Umm el-Qa'ab is the royal cemetery at Abydos, an important archaeological site where many Early Dynastic tombs are concentrated, offering insight into the origins of ancient Egypt. The remains may feel relatively austere, but the historical significance is extremely high—plan carefully for transport and bring strong sun protection.
