Kerameikos Archaeological Site preserves key remains of ancient Athens’ cemetery and city-gate zone, making it one of the best places to understand urban boundaries, funerary culture, and how the city related to its roads and fortifications. The visit is largely outdoors with limited shade, so bring water and sun protection, especially in warm months, and pair it with the nearby Kerameikos museum when possible.
