Jain Caves at Ellora

The Jain Caves occupy the northern section of the Ellora Caves and were created mainly between the 9th and 10th centuries. Though smaller than the Buddhist and Hindu groups, they contain richly carved pillars, ceilings, shrines, and images of Jain Tirthankaras, reflecting the tradition’s emphasis on discipline and spiritual liberation.
