The Double-Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat is a two-level pedestrian bridge formed by guiding the living aerial roots of rubber fig trees across streams over many generations. Reached by a long and steep trek through Meghalaya’s lush forest, it demonstrates the traditional ecological knowledge and engineering skills of the Khasi people.
