The Double-Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat is a remarkable two-level pedestrian bridge formed by guiding the living aerial roots of rubber fig trees across streams over many generations. Surrounded by the lush forests and waterfalls of Meghalaya, it is reached by a long, steep stairway and represents the traditional ecological knowledge of the Khasi people.
